Responsible for overall quality control, Primary responsibilities included: Inter-agency and intra-agency coordination for all aspects of production, Ensuring work adheres to contract plans and specifications, Documenting, compiling and submitting QC reports, Certificates of compliance, Material inspection tags/release, Documenting non QC aspects of work, Coordinating owner’s QA personnel and Working with the project team to complete the project. POLB (Port of Long Beach)

An environmentally challenging, remediation & restoration project on 80 Acres of land under the regulatory oversight of the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board (LARWQCB) and California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC).  The Removal Action called for Excavation and Disposal of approximately 270,000 cubic yards of contaminated soils from 19 delineated below-grade sump areas, and replacement with clean coarse sand and gravel, and site grading of approximately 650,000 cubic yards of clean fill for storm water control.  The aim was to redevelop the POLB property for future use that has treated or beneficially reusable non-contaminated soil.  It also involved disposal of contaminated groundwater and ensuring that groundwater beneath the site is not further impacted.

·   Construction of a temp/perm parking lot, both with marina facilities & utilities

·   Install/Maintenance of two multiphase extraction and treatment systems

·   SWPPP work & 3 Storm Water Detention Basins; Hydro-seeding

·   Construction of 3 access roads; widening of existing Shore Road

Rural Development (Native American ‘Indian’ Reservation)

Coordinated details to design and execute a wide variety of Dam, Bridge and Road construction and Repair projects.

·   Key Project 1: Bonneau Dam (Zoned Earth-Fill) – Breach/Re-Const, 4000 Acre-Ft capacity, Vol 650,000 CY

·   Key Project 2: East Fork of Beaver Creek Dam (Rock-Fill) – Repair/Enlarge,  1000 Acre-Ft capacity, Vol 200,000 CY

·   Miscellaneous construction of Sewage ponds, Box culvert at Box Elder Creek, etc.

·   Reviewed contract details, engineering specs for production purposes to ensure accurate and timely completion

·   Created Quality control matrix, Material testing procedures, Concrete/Asphalt mix design

·   Assisted PM on strategic planning/scheduling, estimate preparation & Blasting for development of borrow areas

·   Prepared, reviewed & facilitated permits, invoices, weekly reports, presentations

·   Maintained project files, activity logs, field reports and photo logs per County/USBR/ASTM/AASHTO regulations

·   Coordinated traffic control and detours; Trained tribal people in Office/Field engineering procedures

·   Participated in the engineering and construction of Highway/City projects throughout Michigan State.

·   Tested/Inspected construction of S-curve on I-94 FWY; Pile-driving/bridge-abutment/Piers/deck on US 131 HWY;

·   Called in traffic closures to facilitate safe and timely inspections, managed roadway excavations including relocation of Metal Beam Guard Rails (MBGR), K-rails and Crash cushions.

·   Collaborated with environmental agencies regarding SWPPP.

·   Gained valuable experience in subsurface drilling explorations, sampling, testing as well as reporting services. Built solid and respected relationships with the Highway/City Patrol and public during work closures, etc.

·   Managed structure and landscape layout/survey, utility relocations for public streets.

·   US 31 HWY: Structural modifications of On/Off ramps, Relieve traffic congestion & Realign traffic lanes

·   Supervised the construction of Retaining wall, Sound wall and strengthening of the embankment

·   Environmental Impact Study: Historic/Cultural resources, Air quality, Noise level, Haz-Mat, Water resources, etc.

GSM Mobile Communication

Key member responsible for providing field/office engineering support for the GSM mobile phone infrastructure network. Participated in all facets of construction. Conducted feasibility studies. Analyzed needs to develop solutions to issues surrounding the construction of MSC/Cell sites. Played key role in commissioning 80m high self-supporting Towers, Guyed Towers, Monopoles, Masts, equipment-room, generators, guard rooms, access roads, parking structures and landscaping within client time frames.

Miscellaneous

Under the direction of project engineers and project manager, worked with other engineers, Superintendents and Foreman during the construction of the Gateway facility for the South Asia Region of the Satellite phone project.  Other projects with RSM include residential construction (private homes, town homes & condominiums) and commercial construction (multi-story office buildings).
