POLB (Port of Long Beach)

 

An environmentally challenging, remediation & restoration project on 80 Acres of land under the regulatory oversight of the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board (LARWQCB) and California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC).  The Removal Action called for Excavation and Disposal of approximately 270,000 cubic yards of contaminated soils from 19 delineated below-grade sump areas, and replacement with clean coarse sand and gravel, and site grading of approximately 650,000 cubic yards of clean fill for storm water control.  The aim was to redevelop the POLB property for future use that has treated or beneficially reusable non-contaminated soil.  It also involved disposal of contaminated groundwater and ensuring that groundwater beneath the site is not further impacted.

 

·   Construction of a temp/perm parking lot, both with marina facilities & utilities

·   Install/Maintenance of two multiphase extraction and treatment systems

·   SWPPP work & 3 Storm Water Detention Basins; Hydro-seeding

·   Construction of 3 access roads; widening of existing Shore Road

 

 

Rural Development (Native American ‘Indian’ Reservation)

 

Coordinated details to design and execute a wide variety of Dam, Bridge and Road construction and Repair projects.

 

·   Key Project 1: Bonneau Dam (Zoned Earth-Fill) – Breach/Re-Const, 4000 Acre-Ft capacity, Vol 650,000 CY
